Berlin's Bier Houz Straits Quay has ceased operations until further notice.

Head to this bistro for a great variety of German and other imported beers. This is their second outlet (the first one opened in Ipoh) and serves German and European fare with a staggering 43 brands of beer. Note that this is primarily an eatery as opposed to a bar and the brance in Straits Quay is a seafront with a terrific view at sunset and at night.
Their menu consists of the increasingly popular pub grub as well as German specialities such as roasted suckling pig at RM328++ that needs to be ordered a day in advance, German pork knuckles, a variety of pastas from RM16.50 and main dishes such as fish and chips, lamb stew, steaks and burgers from RM18++.
To accompany their wide range of imported beers, we suggest either pigs in the blanket, thick fries with brown dipping sauce or German sausage platter from their Light Bites menu that starts at RM7.80++.
For a slightly bigger bite, their burgers are pretty tasty. Our choice is the spicy chicken burger that is made up of fried chicken breast coated in a light batter and melted cheese with crispy bacon bits sprinkled on top. This one has comforting, familiar flavours and its hints of spiciness pair well with a darker ale. Kitty Kaye
