Time Out says

4 out of 5 stars

This handsome hotel bar is a magnet for Amsterdam's glitterati, who come for the mingling opportunities and stay for the 40 varieties of gin.

The highlight of Tunes' decor – conceived by designer Piero Lissoni – is its stunning backlit glass bar, showcasing shelves heaving with spirits of every possible description. The selection, which includes gins with ingredients like salt water and elderflower, makes for some stellar (and generously portioned) G&Ts and cocktails. As well as juniper based alcohols, you can also get hold of a fine wine and beer selection.

Tunes serves a light menu of Asian-inspired tapas and fresh sushi, and also hosts regular DJ nights as well as the Tunes Academy, which lets booze enthusiasts learn the secrets behind their favourite poisons. Be warned – this place's glamorous rep (it's part of the celeb-drawing Conservatorium Hotel) is matched by its exclusive price tags: a G&T starts at €15. But all in all, if you're looking to splash out over a splash of high quality liquor, Tunes should hit a high note.
