Another church that features on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites, this little church dates from 1474. The frescoes, characteristic of the post-Byzantine revival style, are more naturalistic than others found in Cypriot churches. Note, too, the apse, which does not depict the usual Christ Pantocrator but instead shows the Ascension to heaven. The key-keeper is the friendly Stella Efthimiou, whose family preserved the church for decades with no government funds or assistance until Cypriot sovereignty was gained from the British in 1960.
