Uniquely located in the up-and-coming Dublin 8 area near the Guinness Storehouse, McGruder's is the capital's best-kept secret. The venue is home to arguably the best beer garden in the capital - expect impromptu parties and barbecues if the weather is good. Club nights are a mixed bag, from Blues/Soul (most Fridays) to house, drum 'n' bass and indie rock. A favourite for trendy locals and students from the nearby National College of Art & Design, McGruder's has a relaxed policy. If you're lucky, you may end up stumbling in on one of its all-day techno sessions.
