The ubiquitous Dunnes Stores (there are dozens of branches across the country) holds a special place in the hearts of Dubliners, thanks to its good-value, no-nonsense gear. It's exceptionally inexpensive, carries a good range of babies' and children's clothes, and is great for well-priced home entertainment gear and homewares that can be surprisingly stylish. Some of the larger stores (such as this one) also sell groceries.

I approached a checkout and unloaded my shopping from the basket, the cashier who served me, did not make any eye contact or even greet me with a hello. having previously worked in Dunnes I was always told to serve with a smile. This did not happen during the transaction. while packing my bag "___" noticed a friend in the que behind me and started to have a conversation with them. My total then came to €27, I was still packing and she put her hand out as if she was begging for my money and she did not once say please or thank you. I handed her my club card and money and she gave me the change. She forgot about my receipt until I asked her for it when she threw it down the checkout. I said thank you multiple times in the hope she would say it but no. I went over to customer service and asked for a manager, when I explained the situation I felt as though I had bothered her and she didn't really care. I don't ever complain but the customer service within this store is appalling. I work in the area and be in quite often. This is not the first time it has happened. It has just put me off going back into this store. I can't understand why you are employing people who do not enjoy their job. I loved my job and was very passionate about it. I think that maybe some customer service workshops should be provided for these members of staff.
