Pen Corner

Pen Corner review 6 Users say 4/5 Rate it

A classy stationer and supplier of top-notch fountain pens, this long-established Dublin shop is still going strong, furnishing those who are bored by email with the tools to do the job the old-fashioned way. Fountain pens (Mont Blanc, Cross, Waterman) are displayed in discreetly lit cabinets on the ground floor, while the elegant basement stocks fine art greeting cards and high-quality stationery (Moleskine and the like).

How a shop should be. Excellent informative service and helpful staff. Big shout out to the female membet of staff who took the time to outline the subtle differences between a range of mechanical pencils. If only I lived in Dublin. Please support as these shops are getting harder to find worldwide.

I draw with a Lamy roller ball and write with a Mont Blanc. This shop helps me when things go wrong with my drawing/writing equipment and supplies me with everything I need to keep them all going. I can't recommend it highly enough. Recently I needed to repair a Lamy pen and they sent it away and posted it to me when it came back repaired. No extra cost for posting and packed perfectly. Brilliant!

Having shopped around the world, I have not or am not likely to find somewhere better to get well informed and considered advice than the Pen Corner.
My wallet has been wide open walking into the shop repeatedly, which the staff have never taken advantage of, and I have always walked out of the shop with what I needed, having paid a very good price, or better yet, given items for free as they value my continued business over 25 years. This is an absolute gem of a shop

Wow, I don't know what bee got into Margaret's bonnett, but her experience has never come close to matching mine. The staff are always helpful, they are very knowledgable and they like pens. Simple as that. I think people now-a-days feel entitled to "good customer service" but they forget that they need to be Good Customers themselves. If you come into any shop with an arrogant, needy, or simply off-putting attitude, you're likely to not get treated well. I don't know what Margaret is like, but if she is anything like her review, I wouldn't want her to come near me either!

Don't go near it. There are lots of great pen shops in the world. This isn't one of them.

The staff are disinterested to the point of rude. Frankly, bearing in mind the price of the product, the whole snotty customer service thing - I guess it might have been endearing once, but wake up for a moment please, it just doesn't work any more.

Old world shop and old world dismissive attitudes. Customer beware, the only thing that's welcome in this shop is your wallet.
