A conglomeration of custom-designed theatre and performance spaces as well as a gallery, Project (as it is known locally) was founded back in the 1960s but is probably still the most adventurous space in the city. Many exhibitions here are purely non-commercial but others also feature work for sale - the kind of work you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else in Dublin. Project has, on occasion, been criticised for being overly conceptual and isolationist - but surely every capital city needs a venue that can keep the flag of ultra-modernism flying.
