The spiritual home of Edinburgh's original art-punk scene (the Rezillos, the Fire Engines et al), the ECA's scarlet-painted students' union continues to provide a platform for intimate happenings of every persuasion. The Egg, held every Saturday, is the city's longest standing indie disco; every Friday at 6pm during termtime, there's a free showcase of local talent, which gave rise to a compilation DVD entitled The Art School Dance.
