'Kids in the Hall', a quintet of Canadian TV comedians, hit the cinema screen with a splat. This cautionary satire is intended to showcase (in multiple roles) the protean talents of these lame gagsters. The story - forgive the word - concerns the effects of Gleemonex, a Prozac-like happiness drug sweeping the country. It's a conspiracy, of course, by Mr Big Business (McKinney), and resistance is led by an initially gullible scientist (McDonald). Irrelevant, but well done, are the special effects (a psychedelic shot of a pill's journey to the stomach) and the production design.
