Benton's lightweight romantic comedy has Nadine Hightower (Basinger) witness the murder of a photographer while trying to recover some candid nude pics. Having escaped with photos of a proposed road development instead, she tricks her soon-to-be-ex husband Vernon (Bridges) into helping her recover the right ones. However, when Vernon discovers the map photos, he decides to cash in on them. But first they must deal with their rightful owner, a ruthless businessman (Torn) and his two henchmen. Despite a plot with more twists than a rattlesnake, Benton plays the crime caper for laughs, concentrating on the couple's nervous edging towards a romantic reconciliation. Basinger is excellent as the flaky heroine, while Bridges exudes vulnerable charm as her two-bit loser of a husband.Author: NF
