Eclipse (1976)
Director: Simon Perry
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Twin brothers take a small boat out into the Atlantic to watch a lunar eclipse. The body ofone is subsequently found on the beach. Showing a fine eye for domestic detail (the main action occurs over Christmas in an isolated cliffside house occupied by the dead brother's widow, where the surviving brother broods over his twin and their relationship), Simon Perry's palpably well-crafted first feature leaves the viewer to decide whether the death was murder or an accident. Despite occasional over-strong symbols, the result is an intelligent attempt to breach the philistine bastions of British commercial cinema.Author: JPy
