Time Out says

A lot of ballet nonsense with Baryshnikov as a celebrated dancer who likes to play hide the salami with his leading ladies, but has for the moment lost contact with his creative muse. Naive American teenager Lisa (Kent) arrives in Southern Italy to join his production of Giselle. Their brief liaison fans Baryshnikov's creative spark, allowing him to dance with new passion while Lisa weeps in the wings. Predictably, the off-screen entanglements are echoed by the on-stage action, in which the rake is haunted by the ghosts of his wronged lovers. Ross stages the extended dance sequences with considerable flair, and it's a treat to see the graceful Alessandra Ferri stealing the show. However, in a terpsichorean turkey stuffed with silliness, the pliés and pirouettes are a long time coming.
