Dave (1993)
Director: Ivan Reitman
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This warm-hearted film casts the copiously talented but still underrated Kline in the double role of Dave Kovic, nice, unassuming, uncoordinated but helpful Mr Nobody, and Bill Mitchell, unpleasant, cynical and adulterous incumbent of the White House. Kline is magnificent as the man who moves in when the President goes down with a sex-induced stroke, and the supporting cast are first rate, with Weaver as Mitchell's estranged, increasingly baffled consort, and Kingsley as the idealistic Vice President. Politicians such as Tip O'Neill supply celebrity cameos. A buoyant comedy in the Capra tradition.Author: SGr
