Dementia (1953)
Director: John Parker
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This genuinely bizarre oddity seems to have been masterminded by Bruno VeSota (later a Corman associate), who acted as associate producer and plays the Orson Welles part as the villain; the director, Parker, is obscure to the point that his name is missing from the print under review. The movie spends an hour exploring a lonely woman's sexual paranoia through a torrent of expressionist distortions which would look avant-garde if the vulgar Freudian 'message' weren't so reminiscent of '50s B features. Still, parts of it anticipate Welles' Touch of Evil.Author: TR
