Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

A superbly inventive and witty first feature charting the effects of a trendy philosopher's suicide on his widow, a priest with shaky faith, and a near incestuous brother and sister who are the writer's greatest fans. The plot is driven by the siblings' belief that they're living out a novel written by God, and since the story's lousy they want to line up a chat with Him. If it all sounds weird, it is - but also rather wonderful. The Pope gets his, cops and mediums join in the search, the increasingly outrageous black comedy is seamlessly mixed with proper (if parodied) metaphysical ideas, and the plotline has enough surprises for several features. Subversive, sexy, thought-provoking.
