Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

The best of a sudden surge of gay movies from Japan, this second feature by veteran scriptwriter Nakajima is all about compromise and accommodation. Two gay men, with nowhere to go to make love, avail themselves of a bedroom offered by an obliging young woman. But one of them is married with a family, and his vengeful wife tears his secret life to shreds, along with his designer shirts. With its emotional cataclysms, its graphic sex scenes, and its chorus of drag queens, Okoge is one of the year's prime guilty pleasures.
