For Pete's Sake (1974)
Director: Peter Yates
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Yates sure is an erratic talent. Bullitt made one think he was only good with action scenes. The Friends of Eddie Coyle, Breaking Away and The Janitor suggested that he could indeed handle strong characterisation and droll humour. Everything else makes him look almost totally talentless. Here he's adrift in a sea of poor performances and bad comic timing, as Streisand gets farcically involved with loan sharks and others in an attempt to supplement the income of herself and her student-cum-cab driver hubbie Sarrazin.Author: GA
