Band of the Hand (1986)
Director: Paul Michael Glaser
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The story of a group of Miami Vice Guys turned Miami Nice Guys (sort of). Five uncontrollable teenage delinquents are dumped in the heart of the Florida Everglades where they meet Joe Tiger, a 'Nam vet turned social worker who's traded in his greens for the black Japanese designer equivalent. Joe doesn't say much, but from his allegorical one-liners we understand that he has wisdom of a profound nature to impart. The boys' education starts in the jungle, where they learn to survive or die, and ends in the urban jungle where they apply new-found self-esteem and Joe's terrorist techniques to a vigilante crusade against the entire Miami gangland. Crudely directed by Glaser, crassly acted and irresponsibly anarchistic.Author: EP
