Biggles (1986)
Director: John Hough
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This potty venture seeks to resurrect Capt WE Johns' RAF hero from years ago, via a sci-fi time-travel scenario. Biggles on the Western Front in 1917 and Jim Ferguson, New York entrepreneur in 1986 are 'time-twins', flitting back and forth across the decades at the scriptwriters' convenience, with a Hun secret weapon as McGuffin. Not bold enough, not comical enough, not camp enough, not anything enough; and frustratingly there's no sign of Worralls, female counterpart of Biggles in the Johns canon.Author: BBa
