Gunhed (1989)
Director: Masato Harada
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
It's the 21st century, and on the Pacific island 8J0, the super-computer Chiron 5 lies in the 400-storey Mother Tower, dormant since it defeated the World Union Government back in 2026. Arriving on 8J0, bounty hunter Brooklyn and Texas Ranger Nim team up after the Mother Tower's reactivated defence system has massacred their various comrades. With the help of two children who survived the robot war, they discover and repair the last 'Gunhed', an unmanned combat robot, and use it to save the world as they know it. Impenetrable tosh (at least in this English version).Author: AO
