Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993)
Director: Jim Abrahams
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Part Deux turns to the Rambo saga, reinventing Sheen's lunkhead 'Topper' Harley as a pseudo-Stallone, while drafting in the real Richard Crenna to reprise his sturdy colonel schtick. With President 'Tug' Benson (Bridges again) ensconced in the mother of all hostage crises - his country's finest captive in the Middle East - Charlie dons upper-body definition, bullet-belt and bandana to rescue 'the men who went in to get the men who went in to get the men'. Unlike its grim predecessor, there are at least two chuckles this time round, a slapstick routine at a Buddhist monastery and a witty Apocalypse Now gag.Author: TJ
