Much to husband Patinkin's dismay, spouse Close is periodically possessed by the spirit of one Maxie Malone, a fledgling silent movie star looking to make a screen comeback a mere 60 years after her death. Glenn gets to play both prim secretary and the flirtatious floozie she becomes when she isn't quite feeling herself, but the lightest of comic talents is not hers to boast of and this old-fashioned frolic (adapted from a novel by Jack Finney, of Invasion of the Body Snatchers note) never gets going as a result. Her erstwhile alter ego though, is represented by authentic vintage footage of Carole Lombard. Now there was an actress.Author: TJ
