From Time Out Film Guide

Aspiring classical pianist Rémi (Lecoeur) abandons the académie to seek old friends at the Salsa-oriented Bamboo Club in Paris, but he can only join the band if he blacks up à la Cubana. He falls for bespectacled travel agent Nathalie (who's brought to his attention by her Latin-loving grandma) who turns out to be hot on the dance floor when she lets her hair down. But will she love him when he reveals his deceit and resorts to mere white boy? Buñuel's film, written with Jean-Claude Carrière, is a lively Flashdance-style entertainment - made to capitalise on the French craze for the sultry, sexy, son-derived dance music - whose generally clichéd storyline doesn't overly distract from what is a sunny, life-affirming celebration. Music is by 'Kings of Cuban son' Sierra Maestra, some of whose players appear.
