Staggered (1993)
Director: Martin Clunes
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Toy-demonstrator Neil (Clunes) wakes up in the all-together, stranded on the empty beach of a remote Scottish island hundreds of miles from the previous night's stag party. It seems his best man Gary (Praed) has pulled off quite a prank - but perhaps it's not so funny: the wedding's fast approaching, and Gary's using the groom's absence to put the moves on his intended. This low-budget farce has a frustrating tendency to set up promising situations only to squander them. The script is both too devious for its own good and insufficiently thought through, while Clunes' debut as a director is decidedly hit or miss. Amusing and eventful, none the less.Author: TCh
