Adelaide: Andreas (Tingwell), a widower, and Claire (Blake) meet for the first time since their passionate affair decades earlier. What starts as a nostalgic reunion reignites their still active feelings, forcing Claire into hard choices about her companionable but lifeless marriage to John (Norris). Exploring the challenges of sexuality in later years, with its distinctive jealousies and higher stakes, Cox draws startling performances of real honesty from his leads, as the characters try to be responsible to family, history and themselves. But the film is also a profound essay on the fragility and worth of experience, the nature of time and remembrance, and how to speak about such pressing concerns. It's always accessible, with textured flashbacks, a strain of symbolic imagery and evocative music underscoring the trio's hesitant attempts to engage with mortality.Author: GE
