Jackass The Movie (2002)
Director: Jeff Tremaine
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Anyone familiar with the base humour of MTV's popular schadenfreude show will know what to expect from this big screen spin-off. Others are advised to tread cautiously. Some folk split their sides at the self-inflicted agonies these masochists endure in the name of 'fun', like waking a parent in the dead of night with fireworks in the bedroom; being tattooed while being driven off-road; or racing golf carts erratically through a playground. That's just the light-hearted stuff. How about paper cuts administered between the toes, or eating a urine-drenched snow cone? Many will be appalled by the team's stupid and dangerously irresponsible antics - which is one reason they do it: to shock in the name of rebellion and to rail at the march of political correctness. So what's all the fuss about? If people want to staple paper to their inner thighs, let them. The question is whether you're prepared to pay to watch them do it.Author: DA
