Ace Ventura, Pet Detective (1993)
Director: Tom Shadyac
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The tale of a bumbling sleuth who specialises in finding other people's lost animals. When the emblem of the Miami Dolphins - one 'Snowflake' - is stolen on the eve of the Superbowl, our man is called in, stays one step ahead of the local police, gets the dolphin and uncovers an unfeasibly wicked plot into the bargain. In the title role is Carrey, known and loved in the States for his manic humour on comedy show In Living Color. Familiarity with the character is, one assumes, why American audiences found this Naked Gun rip-off funny. Desperate stuff.Author: NKe
