Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

There's a fascinating and important story here - the struggle of the exploited, betrayed and oppressed Chiapas Indians against a corrupt Mexican government quick to use military force to protect its relationship with international capitalist conglomerates. And there's no denying either the clarity of the telling or the impressive interviews obtained by the film-makers. Sadly, however, they botch it, partly by making such an openly facile propaganda piece, but mainly by the infuriatingly tricksy visuals, which are ironically at odds with the traditional culture being celebrated. A wasted opportunity.
