Target (1995)
Director: Sandip Ray
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Hired as the shikari (huntsman) for an overbearing landowner, untouchable Rambharosa (Puri) can't believe his luck. He's housed, fed and clothed - but on the day of the hunt, he learns that there is something more important than money: respect. Directed by Sandip Ray from a script by his late father Satyajit Ray, Target takes aim at the entire caste system, but proves such an melodramatic blunderbuss one half expects the heroine to be tied to the rail tracks for the climax.Author: TCh
