Taxi! (1931)
Director: Roy Del Ruth
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Cagney gets to bawl a lot, talk to a customer in Yiddish and even enter a dance competition in this busy little entertainment set in New York's cab community. He's an independent taxi company boss who defends his drivers against the tactics of organised syndicate head honcho Landau, who wants all the best spots for his men. The action spirals into violence and revenge, but it's much less of a hard-hitting exposé than the general run of '30s Warners crime pictures, and pleasingly compact with it.Author: TJ
