Love in the Strangest Way (1994)
Director: Christopher Frank
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Light leading-man Lhermitte gets the chance to open up his emotional range as Julien, a hard-nosed operator for a debt collection agency. He comes a cropper when tangling with seductive Angela (Detmers) whose blatant come-on is conveniently timed to coincide with the wife and kids' annual holiday. One seedy fling later, we find Julien beating a retreat, but, after spouse Anne's return, Angela continues to seek his help in waiving her boyfriend's overdue loan, and soon turns up again as the family's new childminder. So far, so perfunctory; but where writer/director Frank really hits the rocks is in trying to raise the passion level when murder enters the fray.Author: TJ
