Unzipped (1994)
Director: Douglas Keeve
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
'It's about women not wanting to look like cows, I guess...' So says fashion designer extraordinaire Isaac Mizrahi in this witty, insightful 'fly on the changing-room wall' documentary by his then lover, photographer Douglas Keeve. The film begins with Mizrahi reading the reviews for his latest show, and charts the progress of his next (New York, 1994) - ''50s cheesecake meets eskimo fake fur' - bursting into colour for the fabulously decadent climax. Not only does the film establish the credentials of the art of fashion, it's also a whole lot funnier than Altman's Prêt-à-Porter.Author: TCh
