As Blood Run Deep (2010)
Director: Josh Sternfeld
Movie review
From Time Out London
This police procedural is small in scope but smart in the way it deals with how cosy communities react when something rotten surfaces in their world. When a young boy is found dead after a burglary in the affluent town of Hilliard, the locals leave the case in the hands of Inspector Noah Cordin (Nick Stahl). But when the trail suggests the killer may have come from a poorer neighbouring town, the case looks like it might be derailed by friction between two communities and a mistrust in Cordin’s ability to nail the perpetrator. There are loose ends and a number of disappointing shortcuts, but what makes this otherwise tautly scripted thriller notable is the calibre of the acting, especially from Stahl.Author: Derek Adams
