From Time Out London

Anne (tenderly played by Sandrine Kiberlain) is a kitchen hand who lives an utterly solitary existence in her crumbling top floor flat, but she receives an spiritual awakening of sorts when she helps rescue a pigeon that’s become trapped in her attic space. This could’ve gone so, so wrong, but director Yves Caumon sculpts the material in to something more ambiguous and coolly detached, while Kiberlain’s carefully internalised performance keeps you constantly guessing as to the extent of her fractured emotional state. There are some blind alleys, such as when Anne decides to instigate an abortive affair with a stranger she follows home from the cinema, but when it’s gradually revealed why Anne has become this guarded and antisocial mess, the film becomes more affecting in tandem.
