A new exhibition starting later this month will show what the Star Wars universe would be like if it was set in Glasgow.

Ahead of the release of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, the Variety Bar will be transformed into the Variety Cantina for the five-week ‘Star Wars in Glasgow’ event. A collection of digital artwork by designer Mark Boyle (with whom we had a chat about the project) will show well-known sights from the Star Wars universe reimagined in Glasgow, alongside work from local artists and replicas from the series.

Original artwork from comic book artists Neil Slorance and Sha Nazir will also feature alongside pieces from props and replica specialist Mike Lawson.

Items will include a full-size Tusken Raider and a life-sized replica of Han Solo in Carbonite, as well as original toys and memorabilia.

See the trailer for ‘The Force Awakens’, which is released in December.

And, for no other reason than the lols, here's 'Chewin' the Fat's take on a Dundonian 'Star Trek'.

‘Star Wars in Glasgow’, Variety Bar, September 17-October 22. Free entry, over 18s only.
