An unpretentious sci-fi action pic in which Lundgren does battle with extra-terrestrial drug-dealers armed with lethal space-age flying CDs. Caine (Lundgren) is a conventionally 'unconventional' Houston vice cop, who works on instinct and would rather die than break his word. When his buddy is blown away infiltrating a local drug ring, Caine finds himself forced into partnership with strait-laced, by-the-book Laurence Smith (Benben, nicely irritating). Relations between the two are strained to breaking point as Caine announces his belief that a spate of peculiarly vampiric killings are being carried out by drug-fiends from outer space. But Smith's incredulity naturally turns to awed acceptance as the corpse-count rises. With an upbeat script and a healthy sense of humour, this is an unashamedly ridiculous affair with moderate ambitions and matching success.
