The dance-movie remake trend continues with this revisit to the holiday-romance story between hotstepping Johnny Castle and innocent Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman. Kenny Ortega (‘High School Musical’, ‘Michael Jackson’s This Is It’) is due to direct, though it remains to be seen who could possibly step into the shoes of the late, great Patrick Swayze. Rumoured pairings include Justin Timberlake and Emma Stone and the frankly terrifying prospect of ‘Dancing with the Stars’’ Derek Hough and his ex Cheryl Cole.

  • Are you kidding me? As a massive dirty dancing fan i am quite shocked at how they can even attempt a remake of this classic. not only will it never compare to the original but the characters are gonna be some what of a joke. call me sceptic but i think this is a waste of time and money. I just wish they would leave the orignals alone! instead of saying Dirty dancing, which one?

  • Dirty dancing is the best movie ever made. Nobody can remake what jennifer grey and patrick swayze did in 1987. Idk what kenny will do with this, considering he did the choreography for the original. Really anxious to see it
