Time Out says

The FernGully of this animation feature is a pretty, pastel-coloured glade in the middle of a rainforest where animals and plants live in harmony, tended by Magi Lune and her gentle nature-spirits. 'Everything in Creation is connected by the delicate web of life,' says the aptly named Ms Lune. As if to put this theory to the test, Crysta flies out to the smoke at the edge of the rainforest. It is her first encounter with Man. Impetuously, she saves the life of Zak, a particularly cute specimen, and shrinks him to her size. Alas, Zak's colleagues at the logging operation are possessed by the evil spirit Hexxus, and the whole forest is imperilled. FernGully is black and white and Green all over. Aimed squarely at the under-12s, it won't displease most parents, if only for the welcome absence of marketable accessories.
