We’re not entirely convinced that the original ‘Kick-Ass’ really demanded a sequel: sure, it was enjoyable enough, but it wasn’t exactly a world-beating slice of superhero action (and most of its best ideas had already been covered in the far superior ‘Mystery Men’). But with all the original cast returning (save for Nicolas Cage, due to his unfortunate demise last time around), we’ll still give the benefit of the doubt to ‘Kick-Ass 2’. The hero names, at least, have got livelier: Aaron Taylor Johnson and Chloe Grace Moretz will return as Kick-Ass and Hit Girl, but Christopher Mintz-Plasse (what is it with the triple names, kids?) has upped his game from Red Mist to The Mother Fucker (go McLovin!), while other characters on the cast list include Doctor Gravity, Insect Man, Night Bitch, Battle Guy and, rather confusingly, Todd Haynes aka Ass-Kicker (we assume it’s not that Todd Haynes).
