Eyebrows were raised all the way when it was first announced that clean-cut boy wizard Daniel Radcliffe was to play potty-mouthed gay poet and bon viveur Allen Ginsberg, but early reviews of ‘Kill Your Darlings’ have been nothing but praiseworthy. Set in 1944, the film explores the fallout among a group of young friends – among them Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) and William Burroughs (Ben Foster) – when one of their number, Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan) murders his lover, David Kammerer (Michael C Hall). A film about male friendships and a true literary study as well as a moral drama, this looks set to be one of the best of 2013.Release details
