  • Intriguing, sexy and gorgeous movie with a weird and addictive atmosphere. The script has its flaws indeed but there is something irresistible in the way the 2 main characters interact, a hypnotising predatory ballet on a subtle and memorable soundtrack. Stunning cinematography and direction, a bit effortful true but when the result is that stunning and mesmerising, how could I complain?

  • This is a very unusual film indeed! It has the stark, subversive aesthetic that most of Wook's movies have - but where in Oldboy, you share an just an ounce of appathy for the protaganist. Here, most of the characters have no redeeming likable qualities. In the end, it plays out like Park Chan Wook's 'The Addams Family'. The psychological anguish is beautifully played by Mia; Nicole just stands around like she just wants to be in a Wook film; with Matthew Goode looking a bit lost in his character, waiting for direction. As the reviewer stated: "Asian filmmakers fall flat on their faces." Maybe next time, we will get another film from the homeland to rival 'Oldboy.'

  • A strange if not totally unpleasant mess of a film – it basically relied upon looking cool to shrug its way out of every ludicrous psychological bind the script had gotten it into. Very stylish, but sometimes it got a bit much, every shot felt incredibly effortful.

  • My rating didn't go through first time round. I'd give it 5+ if I could.

  • This is such a complex movie. I'm feeling very sorry for Tom and Jackie, who didn't get it. Who likes Park's work (and I don't mean 'who saw and liked Oldboy') will be delighted with this sensual and magical feast. The way the beginning makes a perfect sense at the very end is mind blowing. Even the closing credits are done to supplement the movie. I had a high (and when I say HIGH a mean it) expectations and this movie exceeded them all. I might be a biased Park's fan, but I would never forgive him a rubbish movie. This one ain't one of them.

  • Weird film, that never really takes flight......Matthew Goode's acting is just wrong...... I've seen better at school plays.......some nice directional filming, that sadly gets lost in the rambling, incoherent film. Very unsettling shower scene as well......who would have thought Wentworth Miller wrote it?
