Can you remember who won 'The X Factor' in 2009? No, us neither, we had to look it up.

Showing just how fickle fame can be, the runner up that year was Olly Murs, beaten to the top spot by Joe McElderry. Go on admit it, you thought Olly had won, didn't you?

In third place that year was Stacey Solomon. But, not taking no for an answer, this woman knows how to turn her hand to a thing or two. The following year she was crowned queen of the jungle in that other slice of telly reality, only to be named Mum of the Year in 2012.

So, with a new album coming out, she's also written a novel... Well, what else can you do with your days off? In a storyline which may sound strangely familiar, 'Walk On By' is the tale of an ordinary girl plucked from obscurity and thrust into the media spotlight and the attentions of high-flying businessman, Blake Hudson...

So no, it's probably not going to be up for the Booker Prize but if you want to get your hands on a copy and meet the lovely Stacey, she's signing copies at a book launch in Manchester this week.

Meet Stacey at WH Smith in Manchester Arndale at 5pm on Wed March 11.
