Located in a former Spanish and Portuguese synagogue that dates back to 1874, Manchester Jewish Museum remains a place of worship. Upstairs, the former ladies' gallery catalogues the history of Jews in Manchester over the last 200 years.
Now with a new extension, there are events throughout the year, from walking tours to heritage days, and a learning programme for schools attempts to bring the Jewish faith, culture, and heritage alive for younger people.
