Summer is a time of relaxation, recreation and raucous gigs, which is why Frankston City Council is raring to deliver you a spectacular line-up of music festivals all season long. This bayside locale is already the ultimate place to be during the warmer months, with both urban and coastal delights. Add in exciting gigs and the call of the south is only getting louder.

The momentum will begin on New Year’s Eve with the latest iteration of Lucky Day Out NYE. For the second year running, this electrifying festival will take over Kinetic Stadium, pairing the natural beauty of bay views with electrifying dance music to create a lively end-of-year celebration. The stellar line-up includes homegrown electro house star Will Sparks, rising techno name Restricted and more top local artists, ready to turn up the energy as the sun sets. The night will traverse multiple electronic genres with lights and vibes to match – what a way to ring in the new year! Be sure to grab your tickets in advance because last year’s event was a sell-out.

Next up on January 26 is one for the house music lovers, Reminisce Decade of House. This distinctive musical phenomenon began in Frankston’s own Belar Avenue, evolving from humble backyard beginnings to a beloved festival event. Just back from the Frankston waterfront at Kinetic Stadium, Reminisce Decade of House will live up to its name, counting down the top 50 house songs of all time, as voted by attendees and played live by home-grown stars Market Memories. On top of that, veteran duo Lovebirds will headline the night alongside captivating German duo andhim. They’ll join forces with Boogs, Chardy, Orkestrated and Minx, as well as local Frankston legends to keep you on your feet all day.

Round out your summer with Frankston’s free Waterfront Festival on February 10 and 11, celebrating the suburb’s epic waterfront with two days of jubilant music. We’re talking Aussie producer Touch Sensitive, Melbourne rockers The Grogans, Frankston indie darlings The Belair Lip Bombs and the explosive choral energy of the Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir. This community festival boasts more than music. You can also enjoy the ‘dive in cinema’, enter the Frankston Swim Classic, marvel at the Saturday night fireworks display, or jump on a carnival ride.
