Built between 1932 and 1935 to a design by architect Pier Portaluppi, the Villa Necchi Campiglio reopened in 2008 after three years of careful renovation. The beautiful building, which belonged to the Necchi Campiglio industrial family, has been donated to non-profit organisation Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano.
Visits are enhanced by the collection of artworks, including works by Sironi, Martini and de Chirico, and its extensive collection of 18th-century decorative arts. For the moment, all visitors are required to join a small tour (no fixed times) around the house, and commentary is only in Italian.
