The all-vegetarian Govinda is run by Milan's Hare Krishnas, and dining here is a communal affair. You'll be seated at one of the large tables, and the only choice you'll make is between the menu completo (full menu) or menu ridotto (four, rather than six dishes; only at weekday lunch). Platters include a salad, carb-based dish, main course and a dessert, and you can help yourself to as much of the home-made bread as you like.

This place bears no resemblance to the description. We went there open minded hoping to have a night with a difference, instead it resembled a tea room run by and frequented by middle aged women ! No big wooden tables, instead small tables with table cloths and chairs with big bows! Apart from a friendly greeting by a lady on the desk as we arrived, no one else spoke to us. The place had absolutely no atmosphere and was deathly quiet. We were not even offered a menu or choice of food, instead an unrequested plate of food appeared within 5 minutes of sitting down and a glass of weak squash ( no alcohol on site!) At this point we decided to bale out. The fixed cost of the evening would have been 25 Euros! To be avoided at all cost I am afraid.
