Boeucc review 1 Users say 4/5 Rate it

A discreet, 'old money' establishment, a block away from the HQs of several of Italy's banks. The dark-suited financiers doing deals over a salver of fine de claire oysters, the fashion crowd and ladies who lunch all enjoy impeccable service and staunchly traditional Italian fare. Well-presented classics such as bistecca alla fiorentina per due (T-bone steak for two) and scaloppina di vitello con funghi porcini (veal cutlet with porcini mushrooms) are two key dishes.

The Boeucc is a traditional venue for business meetings and closing lunches/ dinners. The food is quintessential Milanese tradition (even though a bit pricey). Ossobuco with saffron rice is second to none. The service is exquisite and the dining room is very quiet. I once had a wonderful zabaione (a sort of Italian eggnog) with roasted chestnuts. Great dessert. I would go back anytime, but if you are there at lunch time take the afternoon off or you will fall asleep at your desk.

My husband and I went to Boeucc for supper last year, as we were in Italy on business. The atmosphere is so stiff and unfriendly in there, that you feel as though you have just walked into an old mausoleum. The waiters were sullen and unfriendly , and stuck all of us foreigners at tables in a small row apart from the locals.
