From the southern Sahara to Andalusia via northern Algeria and Tunisia, the Louvre explores the artistic, political and spiritual territory that made up the west of the Islamic world between the 11th and 15th centuries. Through some 300 works covering architecture, textiles, calligraphy, ivory and more, the exhibition explores the cultural richness of a civilisation shared between the Maghreb, Africa and Spain.
