Following Lyes Hammadouche and Pauline Bastard, the French artist Stéphane Thidet is the latest artist invited to take over the old vestry at the Collège des Bernardins for a residency program. The show establishes him as a spectacular artist. Thidet’s works are known for interrogating the concept of time and the aura of materials and this exhibit is no different. Inside the historic and sacred space, the Beaux Arts de Paris graduate manipulates a massive quantity of water to create a unique landscape with spellbinding liquid choreography that presents the viewer with a distorted perception of the area.
