Heels clack across a polished parquet. Frilly froufrous fill the stage in a flurry of colour. One beat, two beats – Olé! And so forth. On September 13, Seville comes to Pantin courtesy of the magnetic Esperanza Fernandez. A gypsy born and bred in the Triana neighbourhood of Seville, Fernandez here recounts her upbringing in the autobiographical 'Raíces del Alma': a pulsating flamenco show performed alongside the Isabel Bayon dance company, guitarist Miguel Angel Cortes and percussionist Jorge Emilie Pérez. Her powerful voice is perfectly complemeted by Bayon's vibrant choreography, which draws on the tradition of flamenco legends Paco de Lucia and Manuel Vallejo. Don't miss it.
